My friend suggested trying this British pub near his house for lunch, so we decided to give it a try. As we arrived, I was a bit turned off by the commercialized appearance of it: a strip mall, a beige facade, with the pub's name on the top. No British flag, nothing to give it that charm, it looked too clean cut and polished, not edgy enough, but sometimes, the place with the more minimal appearance has the better food. We were greeted to a dog at the doorway and made our way in. We sat at a booth, one of three, and skimmed the menu. I was surprised by how small of a menu it is. I chose the Shepherd's Pie, while my friend had the Bangers and Mash. The food was pretty good, my only issue is the fact that the menu is so small, and I think they should try expanding it. I have never been here at night, so I am not sure if the dinner menu has more options or if there's one menu at all hours of the day. I am inclined to think it's the latter. The other thing (and I am sure I will get a lot of flak for this), is the fact that the dog was roaming around the establishment and putting its nose on our table and my leg. It was just uncomfortable, as we wondered whether the owners would notice our uncomfortable smiles and whisk the dog away. The first couple of times that the dog came by, it was cute, but then, it got annoying, and when the dog also started to bark loudly, my friend and I found ourselves rushing to finish our meal and get out of there. I don't blame our server at all, he was very friendly, and I am sure it might be a touchy situation to handle, especially if the dog owners are regulars. Let it be known, I have no issue with dogs if they're in an outdoor seating area and are behaved or contained, but indoors? Unless it's a guide dog, in which case the dog is there for a purpose (although they're trained to always be very well-mannered), dogs just should not be inside a restaurant -- even if that earns me enemies from my fellow Yelpers. Let the bashing begin.

This is my favorite bar in Boca. The crowd and the bartenders are always friendly and hospitable. The bar is sometimes filled with Soccer fans and you can usually even meet some intelligent and cultured people. The beers offered are local and also from around the world. They never forget to give me ice on the side with my ciders. The food is really good as well, serving english breakfast all day.

Get the Bangers & Mash. I know it is weird coming from a person who is not a fan of sausage but these sausages are not your typical American salty sausages. You can actually taste the flavor of the sausage itself.

Having read some of the reviews and how this pub has a great vibe I was excited to take my dad who was visiting from out of town to watch a game here. Was sad to see that it's atmosphere was so cliquey, not much open conversation at the bar and some really immature "trying to be tough" kids outside with bad attitudes and zuped up cars. Seriously this doesn't do an English pub justice. Maybe it's just the crowd, might give it a try again but overall pretty disappointed on first impression.

Great environment with the live music playing and the Dolphins game going on last night.. They give you real pints and if they weren't pints then they fooled me. Good beers on tap. The wings were good just wished they had parm garlic wings but they are forgiven lol. Cool place to just hangout and have a beer.

Watched the Champions League final here. Good, fun crowd. It's a bit of a small place, but the fact that it's the only true soccer/football/futbol pub around makes it a winner.

With a few bums heading back from a day on the surf in Boca, and parched for a beer. Hey, a pub! What a fantastic decision. We ordered our drinks and hung out and chatted at the bar. The place is full of dark wood, and there are booths on the side for people who want a more quiet conversation. The place has a solid, friendly feel without feeling classy or uptight. Once the bar filled up people stood with their drinks in the open areas around the bar. Once the inside of the pub filled up people stood with their drinks in the sitting area outside the pub. Once the sitting area outside the bar filled up, people moved with their drinks in front of the next three stores to the left and the right of the pub. I can't believe how many people come on a Saturday to this place, it really gets hopping. By the time we were on our second or third drink, the bartender tells us there's sausage and mustard and curry if we want it and pointed down towards the kitchen. I assumed this was a friendly way of offering a menu so I declined, then I noticed people walking past with little plates of wieners. Could it be? I parted the sea of people like Moses and sure nuf, there was a friendly British guy at the end of the bar handing out free food, feeding the multitude out of a pot and a pan. If you've ever been starving, and if you are as cheap as me, you'd understand just how excited I got. It's not exactly the Feeding of the 5000, but I still stuffed my plate high and went back to the bar to deliver the Gospel to my buddies. All in all, your experience probably won't be as awesome as mine, but it's a great pub and you should still give it a go.

Only English pub that I know of in boca. Really chill atmosphere and great beers. They have a handful of drafts but also a case of bottled/canned. And of course it's full liquor so always able to order a shot or two. Great service by Casey and Steph. The place is kinda small not good for large groups. They are in the works to build and outdoor patio type thing which will be awesome and help open the place up. I haven't had their food but I heard it's great. Definitely worth a visit for a bev!

Hands down, one of the best pubs in Boca. Friendly atmosphere, prompt service, and decently priced pints. Grub ain't bad either. Whether you're bored on a Tuesday night, or you want to hit the bars with your dawgs on a Friday night, Lion & Eagle is always recommended.

We had bangers and mash Scotch egg curry chicken and a curry chicken sandwich. The bangers and mash and the Scotch eggs were beyond expectation. The four of us had wine and beer. The wine was excellent and at a very low price $3 a class. they had a large selection of micro brews. One of us at a Radler. And England won their European qualifying football match against Slovenia while we were eating. Service was over the top.

NOW LISTEN UP!!!! I write my reviews based on "what it is" in it's category, okay? I've been to this place a number of times over the last 10 years or so. When it initially changed hands 5 or 6 years ago, I'd have given this place a lower rating - it had gone from an English Pub with pix of patrons, acquired memorabilia on the wall, and "off the boat" bartenders to a place that was stripped down, with young female bartenders in skimpy outfits...well,, now it's 5 or 6 years later and it's acquired it's homey feel again...there's a great familiarity among the staff & patrons - they'll even let you bring your well behaved dog into the place, and that's lovely. The wood is well worn, the bench cushions are cozy, and the FOOD is great. The menu is limited to exactly the kind of stuff you'd want when saying "damn, this beer is making me hungry." Hearty "chips" (akin to steak fries) Fish, big sandwiches, and a killer curry...ONE portion is enough for any TWO people. Go check out this place - and make sure your see Stephanie (our bartender) while you're there. She is really accommodating, and is genuinely happy to have her patrons there - I was really impressed how she ran the bar AND the floor...not an easy feat my friends...we'll be back/see you there!!!

Finding this pub has been the best part of my recent move to florida. As soon as i walked in i was greeted by the staff and promptly served probably the best Guinness I've ever had in the states. The owner is usually around and always happy to have conversation with his patrons. the family that runs the place is very welcoming and fun to be around. a few months in and I feel as if i've been coming here my entire life, always having to walk the "gauntlet" in and out, shaking hands and waving hello to everybody. A genuine pub feel with great food and all the makings of a true "pub" experience! Definitely a place you have to check out

Great place. I was craving a scotch egg all day & the one at my local isn't all that so thanks to google maps we found this place & drove the 30 miles there. And they were fantastic. But not as good as the sausage rolls. The curry was shite though although the barman did apologise. But I asked for extra spicy & on a scale of 1-10 it was minus 1,000,000. There was NO SPICE WHATSOEVER! But it's not an Indian restaurant, it's a British pub. And a bloody good one at that. It's a bit of a trek but I'll be back.

I'm very specific about places that use the word pub in their name. Being part Irish I hold this word to be very important. There are many places that don't embody the word pub. Being that it is short for Public House many establishments that use the word are exactly that, establishments. Pretentious, over decorated and run by individuals that don't allow people wearing baseball hats in them. The food is typically over priced and under portioned. The drinks are foo foo instead of just good old beer. Lion & Eagle are the true definition of a pub. Dark with lots of wood, TV's showing soccer matches, a jukebox playing music that you want to sing along to after many pints of the good stuff. While it has all the make of an English pub their craft selection is what makes them slightly different. The large Shepard's Pie will keep your stomach nice and coated while you keep the pints coming. A great staff mans (and womans) the bar. They are friendly and inviting. Lots of times I hear them introduce themselves to new faces asking their names right up front. It's the little things that can set the service apart. Whether you are taking in the sights on the pitch or just hanging with the guys, L&E is always a fun time.

This is a specific kind of place. This isn't the place you just drop by on a slow afternoon (like we did). You lose all it's charm. If we lived in the area, it would be -our- bar. That's how the Lion and Eagle really shines, I'm sure. It's cozy, everyone knows each other and the footie match is usually on. Decent beer selection, but we were warned against the curry--which was the only interesting looking thing on the menu. We didn't each there.

We popped in here for a late lunch because we had a gift certificate from Restaurant.com that I used my airline point on. The menu is very limited, but the portions are HUGE. Seriously, my fish and chips made three meals. The vegetables that came with it were sad--typical freezer-bag mixed veggies--but you don't order fish and chips for the vegetables. My boyfriend got the traditional English breakfast, and liked everything but the black pudding. Being made mostly of blood, I can imagine it's not for everyone no matter how well it's prepared. The bartender was very knowledgeable, and kept giving me tastes of fruity stuff they had on tap when I expressed a preference for cider. They seemed to have a great beer/cider selection. The liquor selection looked to be run-of-the-mill, but I didn't try any of it. The inside looks like what I picture places in England to look like, having never been there but seeing it on TV. Dark, lots of wood, old books everywhere, faux fireplace. And then a bunch of giant TVs, but everywhere has those these days...

Great place for quick lunch and/or drinks in Boca. They have a wonderful selection of beer on tap, and the food is good. I was traveling through, and it seems to be a favorite spot for a lot of locals. I've only been for lunch, but it seems like a good bar at night, too. And the staff is great, too.

Few of my colleagues were leaving the country soon so we decided to take them to a nice little gem they might like. So we headed for Funky buddha. It was overfull with people waiting outside. Neh! Headed to English Pub and comfortably got one of the 3 tables. It was just starting to be filled. Yes, its small and can huddle up but they are not pretentious about it. What you see is what it is. The beer selection not out of the world but is enough to get us going for 3 hours there. Yes, they have Fish and chips and what amazing chips. Easily one of the best around in my opinion. Would rate them very high. The other really amazing thing we had all evening was their Curry sauce with Chips. Couldn't stop raving about their Curry. A blend of Indian spices with an English touch. As I saw the Chef walk by, gave him a celebrated thumbs-up on the Curry. Lot of Irish and English places here have gone awfully wrong with their Curry. They have a lame excuse of a Curry but nothing close to it. The service was good since we walked in. Even though there were only two members on the wait staff they were pretty spot on. Keeping the folks at the bar engaged while also doing regular rounds to check if we were OK. The Curry Chicken Sandwich was just average. The Chicken Wings were decent. Not the best I've had but not bad by any means. We probably emptied 3-4 baskets of chips and washed it down with lots of beer. Not to mention that our check was pretty fat given that we did not come during Happy Hour but they still charged us on some items at Happy Hour price. Not sure if it was intentional though. The crowd was not the best. People getting drunk and hurling at T.V screens that was right above us as there was a game going on. It was too late and we were too many beers down to move to another bar. Not to mention, one of the colleagues needed to respond to some work-related emergency from his laptop and they readily gave the WiFi access. Overall, it was a nice evening. The group enjoyed it. Will come back again for those chips, curry, and the beer will help too. One of the nice gems to have in Boca.

***3.5 stars*** My boyfriend, his friend, and I went into Lion & Eagle at about 10:45pm on a Thursday night. It wasn't busy at all, and that's exactly what we were hoping for. The bartender greeted us, took our drink orders, and returned promptly with two nicely poured brews and a cocktail. We scanned over the menu and ordered the Chicken Tenders w/ Chips to share. When it arrived, it looked awesome - the taste, though, was dry and boring. We were tempted to ask for BBQ sauce or something to spice it up, but we figured it was late anyways and left it alone. Considering I barely tried their menu, I can only comment on the app and the drinks (which were great, by the way!) Perhaps next time when I come in, I'll try something else on the menu and give an updated review.

Great find. Did not know it existed but was recomended by 2 men that you would not have thought knew about such a place. The drinks are great. The owner is usually there and is very friendly. The fish and Chips and Bangers and Mash are just like in England. Real authentic. We go here quite often.

After some pizza goodness at Mellow Mushroom, the group I was with wanted to venture over to the Lion & Eagle English Pub for a few after dinner drinks. It isn't the biggest English Pub I've ever been to, but I have to say it has a nicely warm, homey feel to it. Not a big selection on draft but they had your usual English fare. Well stock bar and a few wines if you were in the mood for them. They also have a food menu, but after the pizza onslaught, there was no way I was fitting anything in my belly, so I will leave that for my next visit. A few Crown's on the rocks; which could not break through the pizza damn I built, but as always Crown entertained well. They have a jukebox filled with great songs...Tenacious D filled the room as I took a request of one of the bartenders to play it. This place might be on the small side, but it is filled largely with friendliness and good times. If you are up in the neighborhood or live in the vicinity, it is worth a stop for a quick pint or two.

I love it here. Yes, it is small and it is not a bar to go and "be seen," but that is just the way I like it. The staff and everyone I have met there have all been so friendly. It is a great neighborhood bar with a nice beer selection and surprisingly tasty food.

A few friends of mine who used to work in Boca introduced me to this gem hidden in one of the many strip malls in South Florida. And what a great place it was. For those of us who have lived in Florida, we know there is no shortage of sports bar at any given area...but to find an authentic English pub...that's an entirely different story. First of all, this place is NOT big at all. In fact, when packed, you sometimes feel crammed in there. But even when it is busy...it still does not lose that cozy feel to it. The bartenders are phenomenal. Very engaging, attentive and were always refreshing our libations. The clientele...awesome. We used to hang there for hours just chatting the night away with some of the most interesting ex-pats from the U.K. I can honestly say I miss this place dearly...and even in Chicago (where I live now) where there are tons of Irish pubs...this one has a special place in my happy hour mind!

Had a great time at this place. Recommended by a friend for a Saturday morning EPL game.......GREAT recommendation!!! The atmosphere was a lot of fun with friendly people. Lots of different fans from the entire EPL. Ended up getting the Full English Breakfast and it was delicious.....with a little Guinness to wash it down!!! The service was prompt and friendly as well. Will definitely be going back for some more games.

A great find in the middle of Boca! I used to work very near this place and it was THE place to go after work to unwind. A traditional English pub for sure. The decor and small space makes you feel like you have been transported from Florida to the English countryside. Delicious beer on tap, fantastic pub food and maybe a game of spoof or two, or three, or four... makes this place a wonderful place to unwind.

A favorite local hidden hide out but show up early cause it gets busy fast. The fish and chips are huge flakey and delicious and gray Scotch. I go every other Friday for the awesome live music.

This is my favorite lion & eagle motif bar. Intricate prints and paintings of these majestic beasts adorn the walls. If you are going here expecting pictures of anything else you will be very disappointed. This is a fantastic place for lion and eagle enthusiasts.

This is a great pub with a great local reputation. The food and drinks are always top notch, as is the service from the friendly (and good-looking) staff. I'd be proud to bring either my rowdy friends or my grandmother to the Lion & Eagle. A local treasure!

Awesome atmosphere but can get a bit pricy.

Great place to hang out. Food was great! Had bangers and mash with a scotch egg and was excellent! Defiantly a locals hang out, but everyone was friendly and concerned for my satisfaction. Will be back!

Best English Pub this side of the Thames. Great pub fare. Love the curry and chips and the bangers & mash. The staff is awesome. Great place to watch some Football (Soccer). Gotta love the L&E.

I love it here. Yes, it is small and it is not a bar to go and "be seen," but that is just the way I like it. The staff and everyone I have met there have all been so friendly. It is a great neighborhood bar with a nice beer selection and surprisingly tasty food.

Good neighborhood place to watch games. Very good selection of bottled beers. Staff is great. Shepherds pie is best I've had in the area.

Pretty chill place, lots of beers and friendly prompt service. Wish it was bigger or had more places to sit outside. Lots of bang for small buck.
